The KIN 

The Kin is a design-forward boutique hotel nestled within a leafy lane in Dadar, Mumbai—an intimate pause from the city’s constant motion. Reimagined from a family-run hotel into a contemporary place of stay, the project is deeply rooted in memory, kinship, and warmth. Conceived by siblings Imrun and Guneet Singh, The Kin carries forward the ethos of hospitality as home, while introducing a fresh, layered design language.

ACKM Studio collaborated on the design detailing, offering technical expertise to help translate this vision into tactile, human-centred interiors. Across 15 individually designed rooms, hand-laid terrazzo in varying hues, Indian marbles, and carefully curated objects create distinct yet interconnected experiences of stay. Thoughtful architectural gestures like the circular and slanted windows, open wardrobes, and subtle custom elements, form a cohesive thread throughout. Designed to be lived, felt, and even taken home, The Kin blurs the line between hotel, home, and design destination.
